Day 4 - Cayman Islands

Uñt’ayata: 03.09.2019

Hello again😊 today we got up early. Not because of the rooster and not because of jet lag, but because we wanted to explore the island.

We picked up the bicycles at the hotel. Since they had no gears and only coaster brakes, we rented two mountain bikes at Cayman Rental. They were in top condition. 20 USD per bike for the whole day. So we were ready to go.

This was our route:

First we went to George Town. All the houses are built in colonial style. There are some great houses. It's a dream to live here. Lots of shops, restaurants, and hotels. Everything you need.

In case you're wondering how the residents of Cayman pay - in Cayman dollars, they look like this:

In Georgetown we made a quick stop at a beach to catch our breath😂

We even witnessed a beach wedding there. Just as it should be.

Then we drove up to the west coast. We stopped at two beaches. The first beach was quite crowded. All the passengers from the cruise ships stop at this location. The beach was very nice, but we always enjoy peaceful, shared moments. There are so many wonderful spots on this island. That's why we drove further up and were rewarded. The whole beach to ourselves with clear water. It's a dream.

We were increasingly struggling with the sun. The heat is unbearable. I have a sun allergy and Ryan has a sunburn on his shoulders. Despite applying sunscreen with a factor of 50 several times, it got us. So we decided to turn back and return the bikes.

After returning the bikes, we went to Kirk Supermarket. It's a huge shopping center. It has everything you need, even more options than in Switzerland. Fantastic. We decided to get salads and bread from the fresh food counter. We're having a cozy evening at home today. Our meal:

Finally, we watched the sunset. A paradise on earth.

We wish everyone a good night⭐🌙😴
