The title image reveals where we were today: in Arches NP. We didn't have a timed ticket and had to return to Moab to the tourist info to get the ticket. After that, everything went smoothly, but the control is quite lacking, so we could have entered without a ticket as well. We drove right to the end of the park to Devils Garden. There we managed to get a parking spot and started our trail. On the 4-mile loop, we saw all the arches. There was also a small climbing section to overcome. We were quite exhausted from the heat. We drove back to Moab, making photo stops along the way. Here we had a quick lunch and then set off for Canyonlands NP. Again, we had wonderful views of the canyons of the Colorado River and Green River, which soon merge together. We explored the landscape until the last rays of the sun. With Paul Millns, we returned to Moab in the dark. Dinner in our rooms with plenty of cheese and a Chardonnay.
