Noosa / Australia

'Noosa - The relaxation capital of Australia' - that's what this place calls itself and that's exactly how we felt there ... Here we really learned what deep relaxation means 😀

Arriving at Hostel Number 1 (we had to change it before the Fraser Island tour, because the tour belongs to another hostel), we waddled through the street with growling stomachs in search of a supermarket so that we could cook something delicious. Since the street ended after 200 meters and no supermarket was in sight, we asked people for one. The next one would be about a 20 minutes walk away (including a really steep uphill and downhill). Our good mood sank on the scale until it should turn into something positive: when I asked an Australian couple for the right direction again on the way, they immediately and completely relaxed offered to drive us there. Phew, what luck! 😀 The hunger could be tamed and everything was good! On the way back, we were given rolls by a baker ... so lucky 😀

And luck should not come to an end when we ordered a pizza for a proud $36 together in the evening (we wanted to treat ourselves once) and the delivery driver went to the wrong hostel, I called the right one asking where our pizza was, and he then brought it with garlic bread shortly afterwards, apologized for it and we didn't have to pay for it 🖒 yeaaaaah! We started to like Noosa more and more 😀

Unfortunately, you can't really do much in Noosa (as the name already suggests - it's all about relaxing)... also okay 😋

Except for the beach and a huge national park, there is nothing to experience in Noosa. So we set off the next day and started a 4-hour hike through the national park! A girl from Ohio accompanied us here. At the beginning of the walk, we saw our first snake (fortunately very very high up in a tree)... the walk went almost along the coast, which was really beautiful! Our highlight here were the hidden Fairy Pools: the pools are formed whenever there is Low Tide, so to speak, ebb tide and the water remains in the rock wall. It was really crystal clear with lots of colorful fish and a great refreshment during our tour!!

Oh, the parrots in the pictures always kept us company during breakfast and tried to get something 😀

Two days before Fraser Island, we changed hostels and on the first evening we went to the hostel bar/club (in sweatpants, a sloppy sweater, and adidas slippers) to take a look for 10 minutes and then go to sleep. We really just wanted to take a look (see choice of clothes..). Within two minutes, however, we somehow became members of a team, because a quiz was played on this very evening. Well, as I said, we already liked Noosa because of all the luck, but now we loved it 😀 From 'let's take a look and go to sleep in 10 minutes' it turned into 'we were forced to participate in a quiz and two hours later we went to bed with a victory with a $25 voucher and a $100 cash prize 😀😀 if that's not going well...

After Fraser Island (see separate post), we spent another day in Noosa and finally met our group again, with whom we were traveling in Sydney! Good ending 😊

Noosa is really small and beautiful, but the 'Main Beach' is really crowded... everything is a bit overpriced and in our opinion also a bit boring there.. But what the heck, it couldn't have gone better for us 😂
