Day 59 - Two Longboards, a canoe and a key...

Uñt’ayata: 11.01.2017

01/10/17

After Marco watched the National College Championship until the end yesterday, we sleep in a little longer today. Since David, one of our hosts, is sleeping on the couch in the living room, we practice football outside. David is sleeping on the couch because he currently doesn't have a TV in his room and can only fall asleep while watching TV :-)

When he wakes up a little later, we prepare a good breakfast and play another round of NHL on the big screen TV.

Since there are two Longboards in our rooms, we take them on an exploratory tour of Treasure Island. We are almost the only people traveling without a car. There is a traffic jam at the bridge over John's Pass because the bridge has a minor defect. After a short time, we can pass. Along the way, we chase some license plates - we already have 36 states together. On the way back, we see two dolphins again, following a boat. So we saved ourselves an expensive excursion :-)

Back at the accommodation, we take the kayak and go for a ride. But somehow it's hard to steer and we end up going in circles more than straight ahead. After about 30 minutes, we're back. By the way, the water is pretty cold, the coldest sea we've experienced so far... Before we go shopping, we play a round of billiards.

When we come back from shopping, we find ourselves facing locked doors because Dave is out and forgot to leave us a key. Luckily, Yves has his cellphone with him and we have Wi-Fi in front of the house, so we can look up Dave's number and call him. We also bought some beer. To pass the time, we take two beach chairs and make ourselves comfortable in front of the house. After 45 minutes, Dave finally returns and we can finally get inside the house.

For dinner, we have homemade burgers and we also serve Dave and his colleague. Our cooking skills are praised as well :-)

Before saying good night, we have some playful duels in ping pong and NHL.
