Today, a snorkeling tour is on the program, this time with the boat and some other vacationers. Sonja&Andreas are also joining us.
After breakfast, we head to the harbor - of course by bike - and then we're already on board. First, we head towards the 'Sister Islands': 'Grand Soeur' and 'Petit Soeur'. First, we jump into the cool water at the 'little sister' - but something is different this time, it tickles a bit weird on the skin. At first, I wonder if it's just me, but after a few seconds, Mom asks me if I also feel that there are a lot of little jellyfish around here...? Well, it seems that these little marine creatures have also found their way to paradise, but well, we'll bite our teeth and keep going, after all, the underwater scenery is once again amazing, we encounter some sea turtles that simply enchant you. All around, huge blue schools of mackerel, just awesome!
As we later learn, the jellyfish clean the seawater, which is why the turtles like to stay in jellyfish environments - well, they also have a thick shell and don't notice the little electric shocks that we occasionally feel... Luckily, you stop feeling them after a few seconds, so it's all harmless, as the local guides also tell us, who by the way are in the water with us this time to show us the best spots.
Afterwards, back on the boat and on to snorkeling at the 'big sister', here the colorful fish world is impressive, but there are no sea turtles to be found there.
We finish off with a snorkeling spot at Felicite, an island privately owned, where there is only a luxury resort ('Hotel 6 Senses') and it seems that David Beckham also owns a holiday home here. The villas already look absolutely fantastic from the water!
And the snorkeling spot that the hotel guests have right at their doorstep is absolutely phenomenal, huge schools of beige-black striped fish are our highlight here and it's simply fun to dive into these schools and see how the marine creatures swim away in all directions - you have to experience it! Andreas and I can hardly be caught again, so we are the last to get back on the boat before heading back to the harbor!
So it's just another fantastic day and Sonja speaks what we can also confirm 1:1: 'I'm so glad that I get to experience all of this'!!!
So the morning passes much too quickly and back at the harbor we make a stop at a cute bakery, which has a really nice variety of treats like passionfruit cake, coconut buns, banana cake, etc., just the right thing to recharge after countless snorkeling impressions.
In the afternoon, Mom spends her time at Anse Patates, I'm already a frequent guest in the pool of the Patatran hotel next door, and as chance would have it, we meet Sonja&Andreas again on the beach. A group photo for memories is a must, as they will be heading to Mahe tomorrow (we were already there at the beginning of our trip)
On the way home, we make another stop for sunset, and then it's back to Zerof for the best octopus curry in the Seychelles... :)
