We are heading to Peniche, a land tongue currently being battered by wind and waves. We actually wanted to stay here for two days at a campsite. But the wind is so cold and strong that we decide to go for a pitch instead. It kinda looks like a prison yard (high walls around us), but it's good enough for sleeping. The young man at the reception is exceptionally nice and friendly.
We decide to explore the town the next day. I take a short evening walk with Polly to the beach. Meanwhile, Jürgen is cooking vegetarian ham noodles.
We are disappointed with the town, we imagined it to be a lively fishing village with small streets. It is rather unremarkable, probably only interesting for surfers. Apparently, this is a surfer's mecca.
We continue driving to Óbidos.
