Hello France

Uñt’ayata: 18.04.2024

With only 4°C and a view of the snow-covered Black Forest and the white hills of the Vosges, I cycled across the border into France on day 5. Although I thought I would be able to cover greater distances from day to day, my daily stages are getting shorter and shorter. The reason for this is probably the weather, which robs me of a lot of energy, but it is probably good for my body if I only cycle 50km a day.

Since I arrived in Mulhouse early, I still had plenty of time to do the "household": shopping, cooking, doing laundry, oiling the chain, etc. Planning the route and especially organizing accommodation also takes up a lot of time every day.

The weather looks fantastic in the photos, which is because I only take photos when the sun is shining. When it's raining and cold, my fingers freeze and I don't take my phone out. My Garmin sports watch has actually proven itself to be a real winner, as I have reliable navigation on my wrist without using up much battery and even when it's wet. When I bought it, I wasn't even aware of how great the feature was.
