After almost a week of travel, I'll share my thoughts: Overall, I'm very happy with the trip so far. I was a little worried about security and whether everything would run smoothly, especially because I ended up planning less than I actually intended. I haven't gotten a SIM card yet because there is WiFi in most places. This makes me a little dependent, but I think I explore the places more spontaneously. So far I have always felt safe. On the outward flight I had a brief thought that I wanted to get out immediately and cancel the whole trip. I thought, I've been trapped in the machine for 12 hours and I can't do it. Maybe it was a small panic attack, but it went away very quickly after the staff asked me what I wanted to drink. I'm glad that I decided on the business flight because it really made the outward flight so relaxing and I'm already looking forward to the return flight. It's well worth the money and I've heard that others have paid the same price as me but for the regular "wooden class" because they had only booked a month in advance.
Otherwise I always need time for myself on vacation. For example, today I had two trips and I'm so happy to just chill out in the hotel/beach or somewhere else alone for the rest of the day. I drank a coffee, did some juggling and wrote my blog. I really always need time and I still think it's good that I booked this bus trip with activities because it means I always get in touch with others. So far always a good mix. So far I've only had a single room and I think I'll leave it at that, also because of security.
Financially, I have to say that everything is quite expensive here in Peru and especially in Lima. Even in larger supermarkets the products aren't exactly cheap, but I don't want to have to look at every single sole or dollar when I'm on vacation. I want to enjoy my vacation and that's why I treat myself to a lot. But I can say that this will definitely be my most expensive vacation. The activities also have hefty prices, but for the most part they have been justified so far because you usually get a lot on offer.
I already miss Germany and my friends and family and so far I couldn't imagine living so far away, even though I'm very adaptable, but Spain is something different than Peru.
I'll soon see what's for dinner (I'll probably get pizza again like I did yesterday because it was really tasty). Speaking of food: I haven't been impressed by the local cuisine yet, which is because I'm not the biggest fish and chicken eater. But I will still try other local dishes and definitely ceviche again.
I've booked a beach buggy tour in Huacachina for tomorrow, but we don't go to this place until 1 p.m., so I can sleep in tomorrow, have a small breakfast somewhere and then take the bus to the place.
In the sense. Have a nice evening/day or night, depending on when it is read :)
