After the violent act of the previous day, we decided to cover a moderate distance today and chose Heiligenhafen as our destination. We also set off a little later. In the morning, the traditional wreath-laying ceremony of the international ship crews took place in front of the hotel (which is right next to the naval memorial). Our route today really took us right along the Baltic Sea for a long time. And since the coastline ran increasingly in a southeasterly direction at the end of the Kiel Fjord, the northwest wind helped us to cover a lot of kilometers. Later, however, that changed, as our route also ran north every now and then and the headwind, especially together with the occasional small climbs, was quite annoying. We took our lunch break today right on the Baltic Sea beach. We simply sat down in the sand and leaned our backs against a beach chair and let the sun shine on us. The afternoon nap in the warm sand that followed was a pleasure. In the afternoon, we took a short break in Oldenburg/Holstein and enjoyed the first ice cream of the tour. We then drove to our destination, Heiligenhafen, one of the tourist strongholds on the Baltic Sea.
