Bye Bye Singapore

Uñt’ayata: 21.08.2017

Our time in Singapore is coming to an end, and this article is being written in the hotel lobby as we had to check out of our room and the shuttle won't be here for another three hours.

But we didn't want to spend the whole day in the hotel, we wanted to enjoy Singapore at its best. And we also promised you some daytime pictures of Gardens by the Bay.

And in the meantime, we quickly got ourselves a ticket for the Cloud Forest. It was supposed to be only $12 per person, according to the information board. Unfortunately, it turned out to be $16 because we are not Singapore citizens. After some complaining, we finally started our visit, and walking on the suspended bridges was an amazing experience. The whole garden is very detailed and beautifully designed. So it's definitely worth a visit.

Now here are the promised pictures:

Now, what is our overall impression of Singapore?

- Definitely worth visiting!
- But always remember to bring water, you'll sweat a ton ;-)
- The city, the metro, the parks, everything is very clean and well-maintained
- However, everything is also prohibited. Need an example? Eating or drinking in the metro costs $500, fishing at the bay costs $3000
- When it comes to eating, you'll only find forks and spoons, knives seem to be available only in fine dining restaurants
- It's worth looking for street food or hawker centers. Most of the food there costs around $5 and it's usually delicious. Please don't go to expensive restaurants, it's usually not worth it
- Most attractions, food, and even small things are affordable, Singapore is not expensive in that regard
- There are almost no park benches, you sit on the ground here
- There is not a single toilet brush in Singapore (if anyone has seen one, please write and provide photo evidence)

We enjoyed our time here, but once is enough for us. There are still so many amazing destinations on this planet. Now we are looking forward to Sydney. The next post will be written on Australian soil.

And finally, we found a little friend:
