After 10,500km in the air and about 12.5 hours of flight time, the wait for the connecting flight begins. It's shortly after 5am, cold and dark, when I arrive in Beijing. It's already 10am in New Zealand and the sun is definitely shining! I definitely wish you, who are still cruising around, the same. Here I'll have a jasmine tea and some vitamins for now.
2 chairs in the business lounge will be my camp. In 9 hours, I'll continue towards Frankfurt. As always, there are delicious things to eat in the business lounge. Mostly Chinese newspapers, and China Daily as an English-language newspaper. Contrary to last year, Wi-Fi is now publicly available without scanning the passport and even some apps work that didn't work last year - like Whatsapp. You can't send photos, but you can chat a bit. I'm finalizing my blog on Polarsteps - here I can upload all the pictures I want.
After drinking what felt like three liters of jasmine tea and eating some dumplings and cookies 🙄, it's time to continue. The time went by quite quickly. On to Germany!
