Day 9 My first time

Uñt’ayata: 11.04.2017

My first time...

..Crossing a border in Africa. With the Drifters Tour, we crossed the South African border into Botswana in our mobile motorhome. In the customs house, we were greeted by a large sign that said 'No corruption in Botswana'. So even the important-looking couple in suits and medals had to stand in line to get a stamp in their passport.

..Enjoying a 'Braiii'. Braii is the African word for barbecue. Our driver, who is also our cook, prepared a fantastic barbecue, or Braii. And even lamb and olives taste good under the open sky.

..Sleeping under the open sky in Africa. Under a beautiful starry sky and with a very interesting soundtrack.

..Seeing a wild elephant up close. There were signs on the road warning that elephants could cross. But I didn't really believe it until I actually saw one.

Shortly after, we saw our first smaller herd cooling off at a waterhole.

..Going on a game drive. A game drive is a safari in a jeep or boat. And since it's a game drive, no one can promise you what or how much you will see.

The landscape at Choberiver was beautiful. Even though the river had a lot of water.

..Hearing the grunting and snorting of a hippo.
