Mini pedaled in the cool morning hours to save for butter and muesli bars and to the baker for fresh warm bread. Back at Stefanie's, we enjoyed a delightful breakfast in the fruit grove at the campsite where we planned our next tours and pondered how long we wanted to stay in East Tyrol. The current plan is to leave Lienz on Sunday. Until then, we have plenty of time to enjoy a few more beautiful tours.
Yesterday, we spontaneously rearranged our plans since we wanted to avoid the crowds in Lienz from the three-day city festival. After our planning session, we pedaled in the already scorching morning towards the old town. Before wandering through the alleys, we got some insider tips from the local mountain bike shop employee regarding trails in the area. We could jot down a few keywords and locations, but the descriptions from the bike shop employee were rather complicated.
With new info in tow, we cheerfully and sweatily navigated through the streets of Lienz. Stefanie found a new cap, and Mini was drawn towards the Asian restaurant as if by a ghostly hand, where we ultimately enjoyed a delicious lunch. For all the long-time East Tyrol vacationers, our chosen Chinese restaurant apparently no longer exists.
After a final short round in the old town, the heat forced us back to the campsite. We swapped our tourist clothes for swim shorts and bikinis and headed straight to the outdoor pool, where we leisurely enjoyed the late afternoon into the early evening and finalized our tour for tomorrow. Mini also quickly helped out in a beach volleyball game.
Tomorrow, we continue with bike & hike.
