This time, instead of our beloved Ford Nugget, the suitcases were taken out of the basement and fully packed.
We thought about it for a long time and decided to fly to the sun.
We actually wanted to travel to Spain/Portugal in our camper for 4 weeks, but because our move got in the way and we still had a lot to do, we ended up with “only” two weeks to travel.
Michel is making motor progress every day and so it was important to us to give him enough space and freedom to move around.
And that's why we are currently on the Germans' favorite island, in a very nice and large apartment (directly opposite the Bierkönig) and enjoying the Mallorcan sun.
The journey went smoothly – I would say it couldn’t have gone better.
We had to leave at 1 a.m., departure was at 6:55 in Düsseldorf. Frankfurt would of course have been much closer, but the flights would have cost us almost 500 euros more and the flight times were also inconvenient. Michel slept through the entire journey and we were picked up by the shuttle at 4:30 sharp from the parking lot a little outside the airport and reached the airport in just a few minutes. Michel was tired but still in a good mood and when we arrived at the gate, we had coffee and a banana with porridge for Michel. He slept through the flight, which we had hoped would be the case.
After a 2-hour flight and a short but much-needed nap, we arrived in Palma in brilliant sunshine. Here, too, we took a shuttle bus and less than half an hour later we reached our destination.
After a long nap, we went into the center - again by bus - to do some shopping and stretch our legs a bit. We like to travel with Michel by public transport, but we will probably book a rental car to be more flexible and faster.
We had bought half a tortilla in the supermarket and conjured up a great dinner with some salad. Michel was not the only one who was dead tired at 7:30 a.m., we too went to bed less than half an hour later. I think Sven and I were asleep before our heads could even touch the pillow.
