My last stop on the North Island: Wellington! We took a 6-hour bus ride from New Plymouth to Wellington. During the ride, I did some research on Wellington, what can be done or what should be seen! I watched part of my series and also slept. That's how most bus rides are spent.
Arriving in Wellington, we took the bus to the center of Wellington because that's where our hostel was. 'The Marion' is a really nice accommodation and is centrally located. We stayed in Wellington for almost four days and probably didn't see everything, it's really a very big city. The shopping alone is huge. Wellington is not a suitable city if you want to go hiking or do any exploration tours. You can go strolling, visit the museum, or take the 'Cable Car'.
The museum was really huge. The most interesting part for me was the section where you can learn about World War I and the role of New Zealand. To be honest, I didn't even know what role New Zealand played in World War I.
The 'Cable Car' takes you up a small hill where you have a beautiful view of Wellington and the harbor.
Our alarm went off at 4.30 am because we flew to Christchurch. Completely sleepy, we had a coffee and waited for our Uber, which took us to the airport. Completely surprised, I then saw at the airport that my big backpack only weighed 13.5kg. Side note: I started with 13kg. I wonder how I managed that, I've already bought a lot :D
I will tell you about my first Christmas alone and especially how I like Christchurch. I hope you had a nice Advent season and I wish you a Happy New Year.
