On Thursday, we continued on to Ubud. The whole transfer took a whopping two hours for only 36km 🙄 The roads are completely congested and not the best quality. Let's just say, compared to Ubud, Stuttgart is a green oasis.
Anyway, once I arrived, I walked to the hotel and relaxed for a bit. This time, I stayed at a nicer hotel in the middle of rice fields and right next to the Monkey Forest. The attractions in Ubud are insane 😅 Well, one of many, of course...
In the afternoon, I went to the Monkey Forest and guess what... there were monkeys everywhere. But pictures speak louder than words. After that, I explored the city a bit. Unfortunately, the old town is completely crowded with cars, mopeds, and tourists. Did I already mention... I hate people 😒
In the evening, I stayed more at the hotel because jet lag was still hitting me. But Friday was going to be a great day 😉
On Friday morning, I set off on a scooter ride to an unknown destination 😉 First up was the Pura Tirta Empul temple. Well, it's a temple... nice, but that's about it. They all look the same to me, but as long as other people find them fascinating. Then, I visited the Beji Giriya waterfall, passing through numerous rice terraces. It's a really beautiful waterfall with a temple, but the entrance fee is a bit too expensive. However, the people here are all super super nice and they immediately offer help. After that, I went to the Campuhan Ridge Trail. It's a hiking trail where you walk along the edge and have a great view. Then, I quickly went back to Ubud to book a tour for Saturday, and after that, I drove around and took pictures until it got dark. The sun sets shortly after 6 PM in Bali, and it's really a beautiful place. I'm looking forward to the next few days 😉 I'll probably stay until Monday because the next two days are fully planned out, but I'll tell you more about that in the next few days 😊
