Manukan Island and city tour.

Uñt’ayata: 24.12.2018

12th and 13th December 2018

Additional information for the 13th:

Initially, I planned to visit the National Park on that day. I woke up early and waited for the van to take me to the city. However, I ended up waiting for 45 minutes and it became a bit risky. The journey would have taken two hours. And would I even be able to return in the evening? I decided to explore the city and then return to my host instead.

We had lunch in the afternoon. I had tuna. It turned out to be a bad decision. My host came from a fishing family and later informed me that the fish didn't smell fresh. In the evening, this proved to be true as I experienced stomach and headaches, as well as fever. I took Paracetamol at night just to be able to sleep.

12th December 2018: Today, I walked 5.2 km to the city because the weather was great and I felt like going for a run. Along the way, I stumbled upon a few tourist attractions.

Well, at least they have something on display.

Then, I took a speedboat to Manukan Island.

You can also take underwater photos with the action cam :).

Back in the city, I came across the Pillars of Sabah.

These are pillars with various paintings.

In the evening, I went out for seafood dinner with Fiz and his friends. We could choose a fish and have it prepared for us.

This is the marinated fish.

And here are the prawns.

Vegetables.

And rice.

13th December 2018: This is the kitchen at my host's place. When I was doing my laundry, I was quite surprised. The wastewater simply flows out onto the tiles and into the garden.
