A lot has happened in the last four weeks and I have experienced a lot! First, I said goodbye to my first host family. Then I went on some bike tours with Lisa, to the beach or into the city (which only took 1.5 hours - one way ...). Of course, we never missed taking photos on any of our trips - quite the opposite! Because what could be better than sitting in the sun on the beach with fantastic weather and then riding home on a bike? But when I moved out, I didn't have a bike anymore. So a few days ago, I bought my own bike, as well as a helmet (there is a helmet requirement in Australia), a bike lock, and lights. Not cheap - but a great way to get around (and especially cheap - in the long run). And a week ago, I moved in with my new family: a mother and her 14-month-old son (he's really cute). Since I mainly 'work' in the afternoon and evening, I always have the pleasure of putting the little one to bed, which means: we sit on the couch and he falls asleep on me - until I can finally put him in his bed after about an hour without him waking up (unless he's sleeping in my bed). Anyway, the change was the best thing that could have happened to me and I am super happy! And I still live close to Lisa (25 minutes by bike), so we can continue our almost daily meetings. As of now, I will continue doing Au Pair until the end of February, until the second child is born and the mother goes on parental leave.
