Greetings from Melbourne! đâïžđŠđș
02/09/2018: With a one-hour delay, I arrived in Melbourne on Friday evening.
I took a bus transfer directly to the city center to my hostel, which has a perfect location. Photo from the bus:
Since living in Chicago for two months in 2014, I have discovered my love for city architecture. It's not as beautiful as Chicago here, but during my first explorations, I have already been able to admire many interesting buildings. đ
02/10/2018: I slept really well, falling asleep and waking up with a breathtaking view right next to me. đ
My hostel is huge, let me show you a picture of the gigantic cereal tubs, then you can imagine how many people want to be satisfied here. đ
The breakfast is great. There are pancakes, toast with spread, and of course cereal. And all for free! đ That's very good for my backpacker budget because the accommodations here in Melbourne cost almost double compared to the other places I've been. So it's not really free if I have to pay more for my room. đ Oh well.
Today, I explored the city by foot a bit more since I arrived quite late yesterday. It's nice that it gets dark much later here than in the north. Also, I'm now 10 hours ahead of you and not just 9. There was a tiny time difference between Airlie Beach and Melbourne, which I strangely actually notice! đ
Unfortunately, it was very cloudy, but here are a few photos for you. đ Melbourne is known for its street art, by the way. Maybe I'll take a walking tour through the city, I'm sure I'll discover even more.
Tomorrow is another day off and on Monday, I'm doing my 2-day Great Ocean Road tour! đ I will report back.
Have a nice weekend! đ
