#19 Milford Sound

The last two days we spent in Milford Sound on the west coast in the fjordlands. Due to strong winds our 5 h kayaking tour got cancelled. Instead, we did a cruise through the fjord to the Tasman sea and back. On our way back, we visited an underwater observatory where you can observe a deep sea environment in only 10 m depth caused by three different water types occuring in the fjord. On the next day, a water taxi dropped us off Sandfly Point where the demanded 4 day Mildford track starts/ends. Unfortunately, we couldn't do the 4 days since the huts were booked out which is way we only walked to the Giant Gate Falls and back.
