On Friday I set off for my next destination, Avignon. Who doesn't know this French children's song?! Days before, Cindy kept trying to teach me. I sang my own version, I just have no talent when it comes to French.
The way to the campsite was once again a bit adventurous. I first had to cross the bridge to Avignon to shoot there so that I could later turn right to the campsite. The campsite was right across from town on a peninsula. After parking, I grabbed the bike and cycled to the famous bridge for about 10 minutes. I thought, just cross the bridge, take a photo and go back. Nothing there, to walk over the famous bridge you have to pay €5 including an audio guide that tells you a lot about the bridge, chapel and towers. I didn't listen to it all, but I did listen to all versions of the song (rap, Indian, county, classical) and there were a total of 8 different ones😂. I took my photos and cycled back a little later. Too much culture in one day is not good either.
The next day I wanted to explore the city. So I cycled a bit again, but left my bike at the entrance to the city. I have to say, Avignon is really very beautiful. Of course I took the tourist train again. It went to the top and from there you had a great view over the city. The train ran through narrow streets where pedestrians were pressed against the walls to get past. Otherwise she drove across the city and after 45 minutes it was over again.
The next morning I set off towards Saintes Maries de la Mer. Apparently you can see flamingos there.
