The plan for today was to visit the big Kalambu water park that Sebastian has been looking forward to since home. Unfortunately, Kalambu is closed today.😕 (They could have mentioned it on the website, but oh well). So, we decide to go to Baldi Hot Springs instead, because they also have slides and hot water. La Fortuna is mainly known for its many hot springs of volcanic origin.
According to the website, Baldi has the largest hot springs in the world (let's leave it at that 😉). There are 25 thermal water pools in the middle of the rainforest, each filled with water of different temperatures, ranging from 20 degrees to the hottest pool at 67(!) degrees. So, we go from pool to pool, from Jacuzzi to bar, from the children's area to the cool pool and we really enjoy it. However, the slides are quite catastrophic: there is extremely, very extremely, and terribly extremely. Sebastian tried one of them, even twice. Let's not talk about it 😱😬. Let's just say it's not recommended for children under 10 or for fearful adults....
