Ah, there is still so much to tell!
For example, how my hair stood on end when we ended up in a narrow spot in a village on our way to the mountains using Google Maps, where both passages are only 2.00 meters wide, requiring a daring maneuver between parked cars and earning Zappa the applause of the residents.
Or how we ended up in the desert in the Wild West.
Or that the Spanish rastros can never compete with the French marchés aux puces, but the vegetables there don't even cost much.
Or how Zappa picks table grapes.
Or how we witnessed something "falling off the truck" and received hush money in the form of smoked salmon and delicious hazelnut salami at a night highway rest stop near Montpellier.
Or how Zappa gives away Spanish chocolate at a flea market in Alsace.
Or, or, or... But there still have to be some stories left to tell.
The return journey from Almeria takes a whole four days, but every kilometer, every minute, and every gram of sitting endurance was worth the trip. Now it's time to find our way back to everyday life and bridge the weeks until spring with memories and stored solar energy. Until the next adventure... bonne année!
