Yesterday we drove to Meersburg as planned. We arrived relatively early, but the parking space we intended to use was already full. Luckily, we managed to find another spot a little further away. It didn't have electricity or any other utilities, but at least we had a place. There was even more activity than usual because of the cycling marathon taking place today. We went for a walk to our friends Maria and Klaus, who welcomed us warmly, and later we went together to a quaint restaurant. Afterwards, we stayed up until after midnight, chatting and catching up. Today, we drove over the Reschen Pass to Lake Garda. The journey was quite slow, especially in Vinschgau, where the traffic kept getting jammed because the farmers were in the middle of the apple harvest and were using the main road as a farm path with their tractors. Once we arrived at Lake Garda, the search began - luckily, we managed to find a spot at the fourth campsite. The others were all full. Now we are here at the southern end of the lake, between Sirmione and Peschiera. After dinner, we are completely exhausted. Steffi went to take a shower, and now we'll have a little nightcap before going to bed early. Pictures of Lake Garda and our surroundings will follow tomorrow. If the weather is good, we will stay for a day here.
