This morning we treat ourselves to something very special: breakfast at the Bakery in Streaky Bay. With very delicious cappuccino and sweet "pastries".
Afterwards, we set off on the Westall Way Loop Drive. This is a tourist route that passes by some beautiful coastal sections. The dirt road starts out very well, but later gets quite bumpy. We think of "Uncle Britz" once again.
The first stop at Tractor Beach is not very exciting yet. But the 3rd stop at "The Granites" captivates us. It's a delightful combination of photogenic landscape with wonderful red granite rocks, swimming fun in rock pools, sunbathing, and the raging sea with turquoise breaking waves. However, most of the time we spend watching the surfers. We are particularly impressed by those who are pulled onto the wave crests by their jet ski buddies and then try to quickly escape the breaking wave. It looks risky, but surely a lot of fun!
The stop at "Smooth Pool" is also very nice. However, the sun is already lower and it quickly gets cold in the wind.
We don't complete the round today, but we spend the night at "Speeds Point", where Australia's first major surfing championships took place. We park right by the water and enjoy our dinner as the sun sets into the ocean before our eyes.
