On the weekend, we Swiss Chicas took a trip to Tamarindo. To my surprise, the 3-hour bus ride went smoothly.
We arrived in the surfer and party town around noon. After 3 weeks in Samara, we were no longer used to the many tourists - especially Americans. No wonder the locals call the city 'Tamagringo' (Gringo = foreigner).
After a little refreshment, we arrived at our hostel 'Mini Hostel Pura Vida'. Well, Google Maps suggested several hostels with the name 'Pura Vida', so we found it with some detours.
We spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach and enjoyed a Sangria in the evening. The highlight was definitely the breathtaking sunset.
After freshening up and getting hungry, we went in search of a restaurant. After much back and forth, we decided on 'People' in the center - it turned out to be a bad decision. We not only paid a lot for dinner, but we were still hungry afterwards.
Since we spent our money at the restaurant, we had to cut back on partying in the evening.
On Sunday, we chilled on the beach again and had lunch at a relatively cheaper restaurant. At 2:00 PM our bus back to Samara left, which we could barely afford.
Weekend conclusion: Mas o menos... I had a nice experience but it won't be my favorite place in Costa Rica.
Goodbye
