Day 8 Sexten - Brunico Physiotherapy extreme

Uñt’ayata: 19.06.2019

This morning it was time to go running, so put on my sneakers and off we go. I thought I'd explore the path we'll be hiking later. It's quite steep, but it's a wide forest road, Burki can handle it. I thought to myself. Around 10:30 we start walking. Normal forest road? Burki looks at Garmin, then at me. Nah, let's take the longer route to Rotwand meadow. Okay, if he says so, let's go. We climb up on small gravel paths and through wooded areas. The sun is shining and the mountain views are fantastic. But the path is not so easy for Burki. Sometimes we have to climb over fallen trees or cross snowfields. He doesn't complain, he enjoys nature and tranquility just like me. Not many people are out and about. We had some rain and thunderstorms along the way. Luckily we found a good spot under a ledge. We wait until the weather improves and continue walking to the Rudihuette at Rotwand meadow. We know it from our bike tours in the Dolomites. Delicious Kaiserschmarrn, we almost burst. Fortunately, we still have to walk downhill for 1 hour. I had Tilidin in my backpack just in case. But no, everything is fine. It was perfect training for balance and fitness. We both loved it. Resting at the car for a moment, then we continue our drive to Brunico. Tomorrow some culture. Our last Messner Museum. We've already visited the other 5.
