Two days ago we drove to Midelt, got supplies and successfully found a parking spot at an altitude of 1800m. We took turns taking walks and enjoyed our peace and quiet. A successful factor in Morocco. Yesterday we drove through the Jaffer Cirque (mountain bowl). At first, it was a good gravel road, but after the nomad settlement, it turned into a dirt track. It runs along the mountain divide between the Middle and High Atlas, crossing the 2250m high pass past the Djebal Ayachi at 3737m, through the bizarre and wildly romantic high mountain landscape with cedar forests. Only a few very poor people live here. The route has some narrow spots, mostly in hairpin turns, where parts of the track have washed away. Burki and Rudi are handling everything great, we are always glad that we have the four-wheel drive conversion with differential locks. I'm a bit annoyed that we ran out of candy for the children. Towards the end of the route, we had nothing left. I would have liked to give more here. When I think about how much clothes end up in our clothes collection, it's a shame that we have so little space. Eventually, we were back on asphalt. It was definitely fun to drive this route. And then, after almost 7 weeks: It rains and lightning, the temperatures drop to 5 degrees, we are in the middle of the Atlas Mountains at a pretty high altitude of 2000m. Accordingly, we drive relatively long until Azrou. Only then do we look for a parking spot, but the approaching darkness is against us. Eventually, we give up and drive to a campground. Once again, it's a typical Friday night dinner, as I don't feel like doing anything else.
