Yesterday morning, the sun showed up again right away. Since we wanted to do laundry and use the Wi-Fi, we went to the campground. It was okay for that purpose. But overall, we wonder why some people spend weeks on the same campground. The location is usually not as nice as wild camping, and everything is usually more crowded. Fortunately, the two loads of laundry dried overnight, so we could hit the road again this morning. Still, a shout-out to the people there, everyone was very friendly. I even got a scooter as a gift for the kids (it's sturdy and like new). Thanks to the lady from Freiburg.
Burki suggested that I could walk to the next parking spot again. Of course, I won't let that stay unsaid. He drove me to a parking lot this morning. From there, I hiked on the E 4, which crosses the entire island from east to west. But not only that, it is actually a 10,000 km long European long-distance hiking trail. It often followed the coastline, and I could see my destination very early on. The path was sometimes very slippery, so Omma had to be careful. 😅 In between, beautiful views of the sea with fascinating shades of blue.
Meanwhile, Burki made his way through mountain villages and rough terrain. (That's how Google wanted to go.) Those can be ruthless stretches sometimes. But we found each other. Some campers are standing here. We haven't even been to the actual sandy beach and the small island across from it yet. Tomorrow is another day.
