Moulay Idriss

Uñt’ayata: 11.04.2019

We landed on a beautiful somewhat remote campsite near the small town of Moulay Idriss. The place is surrounded by greenery and adorned with many flowers. We have to get used to the fact that there is only cold water for showers.

In the small town, there was a market going on and Jasmin bought bags of vegetables and fruits. 1kg of oranges, which are currently adorning the trees in the surrounding area, cost 30 Rappen, and a round bread costs about 20 Rappen. So we buy our dinner quite cheaply at the market. In the restaurant where we take a break, a tea and a cola cost Fr. 2.-. The Taijine cost about Fr. 4.- including fries.

In the city with its small and very narrow streets, almost everything is transported by donkey

After visiting the city, we explored an area with many arranged and disordered stones, the Roman ruins of Volubilis. A UNESCO World Heritage Site..... this real Roman stork in its nest is also part of it.
