Hello dear ones,
On our way from Waitomo to Tongariro National Park, we walked along a beautiful little hiking trail to a waterfall. It was a very pleasant walk on a sunny day. After that, our path led us to an alpaca farm. The farmer has 800 alpacas in all colors and sizes. We even got to see black alpaca twins. The farmer told us that this is something very special, as twins are very rare in alpacas and occur on average only once every 50,000 births. They are soooo incredibly cute. I fell in love right away. Our next investment definitely has to be an alpaca :D my mom has wanted one for a long time :D I think I said the sentence "Oh my God, we need an alpaca" 1,000 times :D But back to reality... we then drove to a campsite, which was really in the middle of nowhere... No cell phone reception at all... except an elderly couple, we were the only ones there. But it was fantastically beautiful! Pure nature and right by a river! They even had flushing toilets, which is rare at free campsites. Usually, there are only pit toilets or porta-potties... and they can be really, really gross... but it's the best experience we've ever had!
