73. Alajuela (Costa Rica)

The onward journey to Costa Rica is tough - due to poor and expensive flight connections, we have to fly via Switzerland! So we fly 11 hours to Zurich and after a 3-hour layover, another 12 hours to San José! Oh mio mio mio!

At some point we finally made it - and now we have jetlag for days due to the drastic time difference, we are early risers, the early bird in deep trouble... really terrible! 

To not start directly in the bustling capital, we stay for 2 nights in Alajuela, not far from the airport! 

Due to the jetlag, we are not really receptive, but still take a trip to the small town, get a first impression of Costa Rica, plan our further route and haven't quite grasped that we are no longer in Africa...
