Yesterday we got up a little earlier and went to our breakfast table around 8 a.m. It was wonderful because it was so empty 😃. Afterwards our driver came and picked us up. He took us to the meeting point and was quite nice. He got a 10 tip for the service (less than 3 euros). He was really happy about that 😁.
Then we went to Abu Dhabi. The first stop was the Formula 1 race track. Elisa in particular was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it was a complete fiasco. We didn't see anything. There isn't even a small Ferrari in the shops. Visitors were allowed entry from 12 p.m. We arrived around 10:50 a.m. and had a stay of 20 minutes. I expect a guide to know the local conditions... After all, the stop is advertised. Absolute disaster.
Afterwards we made two more small stops in Abu Dhabi to look at magnificent hotels and the sheikh's palace from a distance. Afterwards we went to the Etihad Tower and enjoyed the view from the viewing platform. Afterwards we took an hour lunch break.
Now the last item on the agenda was: Sheikh Zayed Mosque. We were given some instructions about what is not allowed. Women must cover their faces except for their faces, otherwise entry is prohibited. Photos may be taken, but without posing or touching. There have probably been problems with influencers in the past because they didn't know the rules or ignored them 😅. There is a lot of marble in the walls and the chandelier is very large.
After we mastered that, we took the bus back to Dubai. We were let out at a fork in the road and there was our driver from the morning. He was already laughing and happy that we were standing in front of him again. This time he was wearing a T-shirt and sports pants - not quite as serious anymore 😀. That gave us another 5 (he probably drove after work). He was so happy again that he gave us his business card 😁. Well, let's see.
Sunny greetings ☀️
