Windows Beach ✨️

On our way to the Golden Bay and Windows Beach, we made a short stop in Takaka. A very small but beautiful town, which was very lively due to the festival a few days ago. In the bar where I got a coffee, our table was also a gaming console with old games on it. Strengthened after the break, we continued on. When we finally arrived very late in the evening, we had problems with the campsite, which could not find our booking. It turned out there was no booking at all. Even though we had booked and paid online before, there was no reservation. After some back and forth, the campsite was able to provide us with its last pitch.

The next day, we headed to Windows Beach. We only had to walk about 20 minutes to get there. In front of us, in the dunes, a family with 3 children was walking. The parents went in different directions and one of the children was left behind without the parents' knowledge. After returning the lost child to the confused mother, we began searching for a spot ourselves. It was very windy and difficult to find a place where sand would not be blown up. After just about 2 hours at the beach, we decided to head back.

The next day, we set off to our next campsite. On the way there, we stopped again in Takaka and this time properly explored the town. We had lunch in the same bar as before, walked through the shops, and bought, among other things, painting supplies.

The painting supplies were first used at our next campsite. This campsite is one of my favorite places in all of New Zealand. Basically, the campsite consisted of a fireplace and a kitchen located in the middle of the jungle. We spent two very rainy days there. Afterwards, we headed towards Abel Tasman Park, where we also hiked one of the popular trails in the national park.
