I return to ASBYRGI and stay overnight again in the horseshoe-shaped canyon in the national park. Asbyrgi is considered the capital of the elves of Iceland, the hidden people. Legend has it that the eight-legged horse named 'Sleipnir' was in danger of falling from 'ODIN', but managed to hold on with a sidestep. One of its eight hooves touched the earth in northern Iceland. This gave rise to the horseshoe canyon Asbyrgi.
I returned from the MYVATN area to the north specifically to reach the DETTIFOSS waterfall again by motorcycle from the east side via the gravel road, which is really bad. It was a great fun with my small but very agile KTM 390, and all this again at 26 degrees. A dream come true!
Enjoy the pictures! And as always, if you want videos of the spectacular, water-richest waterfall in Europe, just write a comment or contact me, and I will be happy to send you the material.
