As we all know, you save money by working🪚🛠

After we had done a lot of work in Patagonia and let the bills fly, it was time to turn off the money.🙅🏼‍♀️

Our supply for the next 3 weeks should be 0 euros.👌🏽 We foxes fired up our Swabian brain cells and promptly registered with Worldpackers. Awesome, just a bit of work, a bit of chilling, no rent, free food, best life.🏝

Our employer, Ester, lives alone and relatively self-sufficiently and away from pretty much every nearby place, in Rapel de Navidad. Nice name, it was nice there too.🌱🐢🦚

After she picked us up in Santiago (we're in Chile, btw.) - we were weak from a cold/flu, she had Corona without her knowledge, it tastes good 🤒 - so Leo had to get behind the wheel and drive a good 3 hours towards the farm. After losing a lot of sweat and mucus, we arrived at our destination relatively safely. 💦We were surprised that we simply had a little house for ourselves, or as the new Berlin eco-wave would say "So we live in a tiny house now, much better for the environment mhh keeey", at least that's how I imagine it in front (no front at that point, tiny houses are really pretty things).🛖

But well, the next day it was time to “get to the bacon” 🥓 Surprisingly, our gardening started at 10 a.m. on time, and before that we had a hefty breakfast (which, like lunch, was included). And as you can perhaps imagine, on a farm like this there are not only a few cute animals🐈🐕🐓🐎 that we were able to pet and feed, but also a lot of weeds, trees, beds and other work. At this point, “Hats off” to every landscape gardener, it’s really a tough job.🦴 That’s how the first 2 weeks went by - hack hack, hard work.🐽

The third week was supposed to offer some variety. Since Ester wanted a new terrace, we tore down her old terrace, which was in danger of collapsing. Luckily, Leo has shown a lot of mathematical skill in the last few years lul (greetings to everyone who had to learn statistics with me ^^)👀. Spss, he became the subordinate concrete mixer and has the planning and project performance of BAUING. Leave it to Anna. The studies were worth it.🤘🏽

After we were able to save money for 3 weeks, we went further north again -> San Pedro de Atacama🏜, should be the next destination. And I'm telling you, Chile is beautiful, but F*** it's expensive for backpackers.💸 San Pedro de Atacama is one of the driest places in the world🍸 and is also considered the place where you can see the best starry skies🌌🔭. This is due to the altitude (approx. 3100 m above sea level) and the practically non-existent humidity, not only NASA is drawn here, but also astronomy enthusiasts. But it should start with a bike ride. Through the desert (at 2500 m above sea level). 33 kilometers away. 300 meters altitude. With too little water and no shade. As we all know, we love extremes.🚳

The astro tour was unfortunately canceled due to inexplicably gathering rain clouds in one of the driest places in the world... meh -.-

As in Torres del Paine Park, we simply attract the weather extremes, unfortunately, but the trip continues well☁️
