Kuala Lumpur and Malacca

نشرت: 15.11.2019

The last week of my vacation I spent in Malaysia.

I arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday and was very lucky with my hostel.

Every day I could have breakfast, chat and chill together with other people in the common living room, and in the evenings we would hang out and play games together.

Although I spent a day in Bangkok on my way to Krabi, Kuala Lumpur was the first big city where I spent several days.

The city center, surrounded by skyscrapers and very well organized, is especially impressive at night.

The rest of the city resembles Eastern European cities and thrives on the people.

There are different neighborhoods and when you leave one neighborhood, it feels like entering a completely different culture and religion. All cultures come together and you can visit various temples, churches and mosques.

I visited various Hindu temples, mosques and Taoist temples.

Personally, it was very exciting for me because in Thailand I have only visited Buddhist temples so far.

After spending four days in Kuala Lumpur, I went to Malacca with Luisa and Lena. Malacca is a small coastal town south of Kuala Lumpur and about three hours away by bus.

You arrive there relatively far from the city center by bus.

We then took a taxi to the city. The ride alone was very impressive as you drive through the narrow streets of Malacca, where no house is taller than two stories and all the houses have different colors, giving the whole city a very Mediterranean feel.

Malacca has a river running through it, along which there are many small restaurants and paintings on the walls that beautify the cityscape.

Unfortunately, we only had two nights there, during which we visited the night market and explored the city.

Overall, my time in Malaysia was very nice and a good balance to Thailand. The people there are completely different and much more open-minded, but also more pushy, which can be a bit annoying at times.
