Tag 118 - 120 'Goodbye Australia ...'

The last few days we have been exploring Brisbane. We visited the city like tourists, covering a significant distance by boat and on foot, and endured the heat. We found some relief for our stinky 🧀 feet at the public and free waterfront pool in the middle of Brisbane. It would be great to have something like that in Germany too 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♂️.

Unfortunately, we only had 3 days for family time. So we packed up the freshly washed clothes and put them back in our backpacks. Our luggage seems to be getting bigger and bigger 😂.

In the early afternoon, Papa L. and Mama B. took us to the airport, as our next destination was waiting - the land of the Kiwis.

But at the terminal, we encountered a bigger oops moment🤯 ... The nice lady at the counter informed us that we cannot enter New Zealand without an exit ticket. Further discussions were not successful, the lady was right! Great 😡. Within 1 hour, we had to provide a departure date from NZ, which we would have preferred to take more time for and decide much later. It was quite nerve-wracking and put both of us in a situation we had already experienced and would have liked to avoid. 🧐☝🏼🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏼‍♀️.

But everything worked out and we were allowed to fly after all. Other fellow travelers experienced something similar. Although they already had a return flight to 🇩🇪, it was via China. Currently not soooooo convenient. But they were also able to embark on the journey and fly with us.

We were VERY pleasantly surprised by Air New Zealand. In addition to top modern aircraft in their typical black and white colors, there was also a lot of legroom. We had a row to ourselves and could switch seats while standing next to each other. There was soooo much space. Overall, the flight was quite empty and very quiet.

Since we started with a delay of almost 1 hour, we didn't go to bed until 2:30 am + 3 hours stolen ☝️☝️☝️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️ (time change). Accordingly, the night was pretty short and our pick-up was already waiting for us at 9:30 am in front of the airport hotel.

The following day is not worth mentioning. Riddler 2.0 was picked up. Supplies/food for the further stay in R2.0 were bought. This resulted in a delicious dinner 😉. So we can start tomorrow fully refreshed ...
