Toothbrush, sunglasses... did we forget anything?

Only 5 more days, then it's finally time! Yesterday we already packed our suitcases. The 30 kg of baggage per person weren't a problem; we still have a lot of leeway here. The challenge was the 80 liters per person. But we managed it.

At first, you only think about the things you pack for every vacation: toothbrush, sunglasses, clothes, travel pharmacy, hygiene articles, and above all, the camera so you can capture all the beautiful moments. Only this time, we'll be on the road for longer than 3 weeks and have adjusted our luggage to the upcoming circumstances. However, leaving the German system turned out to be somewhat more difficult and time-consuming than expected: applying for visas, terminating employment contracts and statutory health insurance, reporting to the employment agency, deactivating mobile phone contracts and vehicles, canceling memberships, subscriptions, and newsletters, setting up cloud storage, bank accounts, and mailboxes, various appointments with the bank, insurance, authorities, etc.

After almost 5 months of preparation, we are ready to depart. Our 3-page DIN A4 checklist is completed, our farewell rounds with family and friends are in the final stages, and our anticipation is growing daily!
