Tag 134 - rough sea & Cala di Matta ‘e Sa Figu

Heeeey together

Today the alarm went off at 8:15 am. We got ready and off we went. On the way, we stopped at a viewpoint, Tiziana had to take care of something for work and at this spot, we had good reception :).

We had a small breakfast there and continued driving. The road mostly followed the coast and went over a few passes, giving us a great view during the drive. When we arrived at a beach, we took another break. The waves were gigantic and really tempting to dive into! We parked the campers, grabbed our swimwear, and went down to the sea. However, we didn't go far into the water as the waves had incredible power! Even at knee depth, we felt a strong pull under our feet and small stones were stirred up. After a few minutes, a beach attendant came to us. We thought he would tell us not to go into the water. But we were allowed to - only up to our thighs. Since we were already on our way back, it didn't matter either way :).

The next stop was a motorhome service station. We filled and emptied everything, bought a few things, and arrived at our place for today around 3:30 pm.

We were already here last week, but because of the strong waves, this place looked completely different. The water, which was usually crystal clear and you could see the bottom, now crashes against the steep coast. However, it also looks really great! Roman and Tiziana found a spot where there were hardly any waves and went for a swim right away :).

Kevin and I stayed on land and watched the waves.

Now we're going to a cozy restaurant right by the sea for dinner and enjoy the rest of the day :)
