Art Deco city Napier and the path to Lake Taupo

Early rising was on the agenda this morning. We wanted to visit Napier and then drive up to Lake Taupo.

And of course we managed to do both 👍😃

We left Wellington at exactly the right time, there was a storm warning in Wellington last night and the airport was temporarily closed. However, we only noticed it while driving because of the strong wind, which made it difficult for us to drive at times, it was quite exhausting.

Napier has some nice houses in Art Deco style, but the city beach was absolutely amazing.

The drive to Lake Taupo was rather uneventful except for the strong wind that made driving difficult. Then we found a great campground, we can even see a corner of Lake Taupo from our van.
