Cafayate

Cafayate is the capital of the Cafayate Department in the Salta Province. It is located at an altitude of 1,683 meters and has approximately 12,000 inhabitants.

In Cafayate, we stayed in a hostel with shared bathrooms, which was not bad at all. It just got a bit cold at night, but the rooms had heaters...

The journey to Cafayate went through wild land where donkeys, goats, foxes, and cows were roaming.

In Cafayate itself, there are many wineries, but now in winter, the vineyards are bare, so we didn't visit any wineries. However, it was Independence Day, and the students were dressed up and parading through the city...

From Cafayate, we took trips to the Obelisco and the amphitheater, where the indigenous people make music and of course, sell souvenirs or food.
