After an absolutely quiet and windy night in the mountains, we went to Chefchaouen, the blue city. Very touristy, but we arrived quite early and had some blue alleys to ourselves.
We're drinking freshly squeezed orange juice - once again - and watching the partially surreal Instagram tourists taking selfies with their selfie sticks.
Since it is advised against traveling through the Rif Mountains - it is the territory of drug lords as hashish is cultivated here (70% of the European market!) - we decide against the scenic route and drive through a Tuscany-like landscape heading south.
We received a recommendation for a stop at a farm where we can stay and eat, and the Moroccan family there is very welcoming. Although it's not exactly quiet due to the road (and the barking dogs at night), the food is great, Mia gets to help with cooking and ride donkeys, and we feel very welcome.
