Ole took off his watch and yesterday he was actually unsure for 10 seconds what day it is. Travel mode on.
We are now in southern Sweden for a few days and nights, right on Lake Åsnen. There are moose, sea eagles, jays and of course mosquitoes. But for now they are in manageable numbers and our mosquito repellent systems are working well. (Thanks to Mom for the best lavender oil!)
It's warm, the sun is shining almost all the time (thanks to Marcel for the best sunscreen!), there is a pleasant breeze, the child is dirty and eats like a horse. The child also took its first swim in the lake. It was cold and funny and he LOVES it.
For the first two evenings here, Henry made a lot of noise and entertained the campsite because he absolutely didn't want to sleep. That was super embarrassing for the parents and super irrelevant to the child. Now, thanks to Ole, we have found a better rhythm and yesterday the little human simply fell asleep peacefully. Just like that.
There are many other German campers here, which we didn't think was great at first, but since almost all of them have children too, it's actually quite pleasant, if we're honest. Henry always gets excited when he sees other children and sometimes observes them for a relaxed 2 minutes. This saves Ole and me from being the entertainers for two.
Yesterday we walked a few kilometers along the lakeshore, tested the backpack and found it good. (Thanks to Fabian!) Henry fell asleep immediately, we heard moose and found a great rocky point where we could have lunch. But at some point it became exhausting because Henry kept trying to crawl on his stomach into the water.
Due to the weather forecast, we will leave early tomorrow and head to Vimmerby for the Astrid Lindgren Theme Park. My inner child is already a bit excited.
But tonight we'll have a fire at our pitch and enjoy the peace and quiet.
