Tour data: 92.9 km, Ø 21.2 km/h, Duration 4:24 hours.
Weather: After frequent rain in Switzerland, it is almost outrageous to say that Scandinavia currently has the sunny spring weather monopoly. Temperatures up to 20°, now after 5 p.m. I am sitting at a pleasant 19° in front of Nancy's house.
Have you ever ridden your bike on the highway? I have, but more on that later.
Örebro is a historic city, especially the centrally located castle is beautiful and large. It reminded me of Chillon Castle, which I visited on my hike last year. I took photos of it and other attractions during my walk before departure, which you will also find in this report.
My bike found its place in the hotel's luggage room, and I had to charge both batteries in the room. That's why the photo in the reception area was taken.
There are bike paths everywhere in the city, and cyclists always have priority. Drivers already stop when they suspect I want to cross the street. But I still look, because safety first!
So it didn't take long for me to leave the city behind and have a long bike path ahead of me. Today's tour was supposed to be only 86 km long, but in the end it turned out to be over 92. But the extra kilometers were worth it because of the beautiful landscape. Above all, this detour was stress-free, safe, and quiet.
Let me talk about the highway that I mentioned earlier. After the beautiful bike paths, suddenly I was told to turn right. And suddenly, I was on the 4-lane highway without a shoulder or emergency lane, but with a lot of traffic and many trucks. How do you get off here again? It wasn't until a few kilometers later that there was an opportunity, which I immediately took advantage of. Although Komoot wanted to immediately send me back onto the E18, I found ways to avoid that. Gravel roads and detours - I accepted all of that and was happy with it. Unfortunately, I couldn't avoid having to ride on it again for about 2 kilometers. And just as the relief lay ahead of me, 2 trucks overtook me, losing so much dust that I was in dense fog. I could only hope that the following drivers could see me. An experience that I do not want to repeat!!!!
But I was rewarded with a quiet road and magnificent landscapes. So today turned out to be a ride that was worth it after all.
