Tag 51 - Singapore - Jewel - Dubai - Hotel

Wednesday is travel day!

We had breakfast in peace and then packed up the rest of our things. We had to check out by 12pm - very late. We took a driver via Grab and drove to Terminal 3 of the airport. We discussed with the driver where this well-known “park” is. The name is “Jewel”. However, it is located at Terminal 1, he said 😅.

When we entered the airport we were really impressed. Everything is so nicely organized, clean and there are employees running around everywhere who are happy to help with any questions or problems. This fits very well into the overall picture 😀.

After dropping off our bags, we walked 10 minutes to the “Jewel”. The park is a little gem. Since we didn't want to spend too much time, we turned back after about 10 minutes and a few photos.

We passed security and then got a little annoyed. There were no more shops and restaurants. We should have left beforehand... well, then we had instant noodles for lunch 😁. By the way, we (Elisa) found a credit card. Of course I handed it over straight away and the owner was announced. But he was probably already on the plane ✈️. We will never know.

Our flight was again with Singapore Airlines. Everything went according to plan and there were no delays in the start.

Fantastic. Off we went. The flight was flawless again. Only slight turbulence was felt here and there. The stewardesses are really very nice, provide us with reliable food and are very attentive. The food really doesn't taste bad. There's always ice cream and snacks in between. Very nice 😀. Other airlines can take a lesson from this.

In Dubai we had to go to passport control and actually got stamps. However, we were not asked a single question. Only our faces were photographed and saved. Rubber stamp. And further.

Then there was a security check for hand luggage. No complaints were found with Elisa. But this time I was waved out and had to unpack everything😅. The lady said she was looking for a circular object... I didn't know what she meant at all. While unpacking, I even came across things that I didn't even know about. I was a little surprised 😅. After all, it was the three old coins from Australia, the USA and South Africa that I accidentally put in my hand luggage 😂. She asked me what that was (emphasis on that 😅). I replied that these were three very special, old coins from all over the world 😅. She somehow looked at me very surprised and had to consult with her colleague 😅…. All clear. I could continue. We joked and laughed some more. She told me she didn't like my backpack. I said that I could put a lot of coins in different pockets for next time. Everything was back on track 😄.

From the airport we took an Uber to the hotel on the Palm Island 🌴. The driver was very talkative and the route was long 😅. He would like to come to Germany and wanted to know how he could enter the country. Unfortunately we can't help because we're only interested in getting out 😜.

We were greeted in front of the hotel by the concierge, who brought our suitcases straight to our room. Good boy 👍🏻. We like the hotel very much. The employees are all very nice and accommodating. Well, we're excited to see what happens next.
