Bodrum

የታተመ: 07.07.2024

Today on our sea journey, we stranded in the city of fishermen and sponge divers in Bodrum. This area is very popular among sailors. The Gulet yachts, which set sail for the 'blue voyage,' are world-famous for their wooden construction.

Bodrum is named 'The White City' because of the many white houses. We reached the Castle of St. Peter on foot in half an hour. The castle is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is one of the most magnificent surviving Crusader castles in Europe, built by the Knights Hospitaller and expanded with stones from the Mausoleum, later taken over by the Ottomans and further modified. The castle houses many exhibitions and the most significant underwater archaeology museum in the world. Concerts are also regularly held here. We didn't go inside the castle, we only viewed it from the outside. In the extreme heat, even early in the morning, we strolled past countless boats in the marina.

We found some refreshment in one of the many bars overlooking the bay and MeinSchiff.

Since we had been to Bodrum before, we decided to skip further sightseeing. For example, the Mausoleum, one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,' and the Amphitheater of Halicarnassus (Bodrum).

With the scorching 36°C, it's SUMMER here, and we could only stay in the shade.
