On Tuesday, it was our last day in Sydney, so we decided to go to Wildlife Zoo to see all the animals that Australia has to offer! We saw koalas, kangaroos, a giant crocodile, and much more. In the evening, it was time to pack our bags.
On Wednesday, we had to wake up very early to catch our train at the station. We had a 5-hour train ride ahead of us, which actually went by quite quickly. A 2-hour layover and then another 8-hour bus ride until we arrived tired and exhausted at Mildura station at midnight. The owner of the camping site greeted us warmly and drove us to our accommodation.
The next day, we woke up relatively early, unpacked our things, and explored the area since we didn't see much at night! There is a wild kangaroo family living on the campsite. In the morning, we had a brief safety briefing for our farm job. After that, we could go shopping and then relax and enjoy the day.
Our first day of work started at 8 o'clock. We arrived at the hall and didn't know what to expect. At first, no one explained anything to us, so we had to watch the others and see how they prepared their table. Until someone explained to us what our task was. We had to weigh and pack blueberries. At first, we were quite slow, but we improved as the day went on. It was a very monotonous job, but doable. After 9 hours, we finally finished.
Tomorrow is already Christmas and it still feels so unreal here as we sit in the sun at over 30 degrees. But Merry Christmas to everyone. 🎄
