Today, we woke up at about the same time as yesterday, with the difference that (almost) everyone was awake. This time we didn't have breakfast in the camper as usual, but we headed out right away. After a good hour, we already arrived at the first attraction. Big, hot mud pools (called 'fumaroles' in the specialized language) that were bubbling. We decided to have a small meal and then continued. It smelled awful of sulfur, but that didn't bother us much. The trail was about one and a half kilometers and was very interesting. After that, we continued driving and came across two waterfalls. By chance, we also met the Hunziker family from Erlinsbach, who we flew with on the plane. The waterfalls were impressive. On the way, we started getting hungry for lunch and we decided to eat something. After we finished our hamburgers and bought the necessary souvenirs, we continued on. The next stop was again at some fumaroles, but this time they were colorful and the smell wasn't as strong anymore. We took a few pictures and made our way back to the RV. There, we encountered the first horror of the day. Someone had left the tap running in the bathroom, so the wastewater tank was full and the water was already flowing onto the floor. The second surprise was that the toilet was also clogged and there was a risk of it overflowing while driving. Marielle emptied the toilet water with a drinking cup, despite feeling disgusted. The problem with overflowing was solved and then the second problem arose. The parking lot was so narrow that we could hardly turn our vehicle around and there was a huge traffic jam. With a lot of effort, we managed to do it and continued driving. Afterwards, we reached the third fumaroles, which were located in a volcanic crater that erupted a few years ago. After a nice walk, we headed back home. It took an hour and a half and when we arrived home, Mom was about to prepare the meal, but she noticed, or rather smelled, that the meat was spoiled and looked gray. The meat was thrown away and we had to come up with a new solution. Cinque Pi was now on the menu.
