St Mateu- Denìa - Xabìa - Calp
Distance: 294 km
Shorter route compared to what I did in the last few days. I mainly took the expressway and exited at Gandia through the Montgó National Park. The most beautiful landscape and itinerary I have seen so far. Finally, I left the highway and drove through the mountains from Xabìa to Calpe. (To be honest, I didn't want to stay in any touristy places, but I didn't really check on Calp beforehand as I thought it was a small and quiet place - well, it is small but not quiet and very touristy, which is evident because 1. We are on the Costa Blanca and 2. There are very touristy places nearby like Benidorm and Alicante)
Anyway, I like it here so I have decided to stay another night and do a round trip to Altea, Altea Hills, Benidorm, El Campello, and have dinner tonight with my friend Donatella from Alicante. And to top it all off, I have chosen a nice hotel with a beautiful view of the Ifac and the harbor of Calp. And it's actually a nice feeling to stay somewhere for a little while ;)
The road from Denìa leading to Xabìa and then to Calp through the mountains is definitely worth seeing. If you ever visit this region, you should go there.
Good morning
Actually, I wanted to be productive last night but I was simply too tired to write anything.
So I drove from St Mateu south, passing by Castellon and Valencia, until I reached Gandia where I exited the highway and took the national road to Denia. I tried to find the small beach from 2 years ago but unfortunately, I couldn't find it. The area around Xabia is very beautiful and the route through the mountains towards Calp is absolutely breathtaking. I was very glad that I decided to take the country road to Calp. Because when you arrive at the top, you have a great view of the Ifac, a massive rock at the harbor of Calp.
If you ever come here, the route is really worth driving along.
I will prepare for the day. So I have decided to stay here for another day. Today, I will do a sort of tour to Altea and Benidorm and then have dinner in Alicante with a friend and come back to the hotel here.
Wishing you a great start to the week.
Sunniest greetings from the Costa Blanca :*
